I will get to the PourHouse. I haven’t been in months. Hurricane season is upon us and once again the rain will keep me from jammin to the Reckoning on the deck. Slinging my wares and swimming in beautiful hippies.

Ive been witnessing the evolution of Jessica’s work for around a year. She has transitioned from sometime crafter to silversmith. Her Grammy gifted her a phenomenal class at John C Campbell Folk School in the mountains. Swoon.

She makes fairy wing earrings. Wire wrapped wearables. Silver and copper one of a kinds. She dances to the Greatful Dead. Has a Sunshine smile.
She made this beautiful sterling silver ring a few weeks back. It’s like a lilypad w an opal setting. You can find her at the Pour House on Wends and ur occasional festival. Ask her about her new puppy

Mciver Wells mural at Pour House

I’ve always wanted to tag and do big murals since I was a kid seeing Kool Disco Dan’s work all over MD/ DC.
I once do fairy murals behind my bedroom door when I was 14. I worked 3 days after my parents went to bed using acrylics I’d pilfered from my dad.
So proud I was of the work I’d completed I had to show someone. It lasted 48hrs

Ishmel mural at pour house on Maybank hwy.
Im always awe struck when I get to see artists I really admire work. I’ve seen this dude’s work all over Charleston for years!!!!!
What was even so cool was the he looked nothing I thought and his mural is right next to my friend Mciver’s mural (he plays in Key of Q on Sundays at Pour House and he’s a groovy painter).

Dead Wednesdays at JI PourHouse… I will be hitting the Artists’ Market on the deck of Pour House occasionally this season. I’ve decided to honor my old prices and earn some capital.
I’ve been participating in their “Starving Artist market” for almost 3 yrs. I bring my small setup; bring the hoops; buy an Elaina Ruz pressed Sammy (grilled turkey, cream cheese, strawberry preserves, sautéed onions on a pressed bread. Good shit) and listen to a real good Greaftful Dead coverband. This past week, the Reckoning was jamming something fierce.
People bring their dogs. Indulge in $2 PBR and Cuban food under the pecan tree that covers the outside deck. Mostly the deck is the warm up act for the bands playing inside (the place has 2 stages)
Sometimes there’s a few vendors and sometimes it’s nuts to butts. I love it any time I go. The people who congregate and work there r cool as hell!
See you there? Just not this Wednesday, I’m going to the Prince concert!!!
