Ive been making my own laundry soap for almost a year. It’s super easy. Costs $12 for supplies that will last near 2 years.
This is my third batch. I used Dial soap for this batch. Check out the website I use for my recipe.
It does work. I use to use Tide undyed and fragrant free. I feel very strongly that it works just as great as that $10 jug that only gave me a gallon at a time.

Made my own laundry soap. Who makes their own laundry soap?! Me! If u saw how much laundry I go through, it’ll make sense. Plus, I’m a control freak w a house of people w sensitive skin.
For $6 for supplies and $2 for a bucket at Lowes (I also priced out 160psi orange irrigation tubing), I got my DIY on.
The Hubs helped out w filling 3 gallons of warm water as I boiled 4 cups water, dissolving 1 shaved bar of Ivory soap.
I love the smell of ivory soap. It reminds me of painting bc we always had a bar of ivory soap in arts and crafts as a child ; and when I took a painting course we used it to properly clean our paintbrushes.
It shall sit for 24 hours congealing.
It was easy enough with many dollars saving in long run. Over $250 savings a year in laundry soap. Woot woot!
