Horse hair from a beloved steed from a family friend. Need to wash; make something unique and stylish
I’m making headbands w Kevin’sCouch. They are a hit as this spring and summer start.
They can be worn as a crown or a headband. I’m wrapping the pop of color on ends so u can look good coming or going. Adds more time to the process but totally worth it.
They look great in long hair. Short hair. Dreads. Braids. Afro. Jewfro.
Fun and stylish for everyone!
Springfest at Spirit of Suwannee Music Park.
Im making headbands w a tail all made from Kevin’sCouch. It looks cute on her. You can wear across forehead or as a headband.
My jet setting mother recently went to St Croix, her friend had wild peacocks that ran around their property. She collected dozens of tail feathers.
Peacock feathers are beautiful and vibrant.
In some cultures it as looked on as a bad omen. An evil eye. However, it is mostly revered as a symbol of resurrection and luck in Christian and Greek mythologies.
The peacock sheds and regrows it’s feathers every year and has the ability to eat poison snakes without injury. What?! Looks good and eats killer creatures. Bad ass.
I’ll be incorporating my mom’s gift into my work in the headbands i’ve been making. They are to peek out of hair either in back or cascading down the front of the body.
Fused glass in orange speckled w pink and blue on reclaimed leather. And it glows.
Posted on twitter and already SOLD! @fromnancysheart now is the first person to own one of my fused glass headbands!
I may be on to something.
I luv their curls
Wild and Adorable
All my years I’ve hated my hair.
Once long, now short
Relaxed. Blow dried. Damaged
Our children have wonderful curls. Like sprouts out Spring soil.
No more heat and chemicals. Natural all the way. Like my babies. Grow wild and free.
Now I must hydrate.
No more relaxers
My curly roots are just like my mocha children
“isn’t it funny that it is considered rebellious for a black person to wear their hair in it’s natural state?”
Ps- call my hair nappy and we will have some problems
