My jet setting mother recently went to St Croix, her friend had wild peacocks that ran around their property. She collected dozens of tail feathers.
Peacock feathers are beautiful and vibrant.
In some cultures it as looked on as a bad omen. An evil eye. However, it is mostly revered as a symbol of resurrection and luck in Christian and Greek mythologies.
The peacock sheds and regrows it’s feathers every year and has the ability to eat poison snakes without injury. What?! Looks good and eats killer creatures. Bad ass.
I’ll be incorporating my mom’s gift into my work in the headbands i’ve been making. They are to peek out of hair either in back or cascading down the front of the body.
