Did an art installation in bff’s bedroom. I will peck at this project. I’m treating this whole house as a big art project. The house is kinda ugly from outside; however, I want the inside to be the magical land of narnia. #bff #art #nature #garland #craft #glass #found #wrap #yarn #bedroom #decorate #diy #janeticsink @lesliebeach
I can’t bring myself to buy a calendar. I’m going to start planning to make one. I use to sell them several years ago. I thought they were badass. #calendar #diy #craft #project #janeticsink #art
Making laundry soap. 4 gallons worth. Cost $4. I haven’t made since July. I do A LOT of laundry. I can’t afford to be buying soap every 2 weeks so I make my own and there’s no dyes or sulfides. #laundry #mommyproblems #diy

I have a pretty large craft reference library I’ve been working on for the last 12 years. Got this book for 10ยข at a thrift store several years ago. #diy #craft #art #vintage #book
The ghettoness that is my sewing machine. My thread holder broke. Now my thread is held by a pencil in a top cavity.
Girl’s gotta do what a girl’s gotta do.
A friend hooked me up w some awesome fabric.
Ive made a promise to myself to create at least 5 projects a day.
On my first day, I made 6 reconstructed shirts. So 1980s of me, and I love the results.
Cozy.
No sewing involved.
The shirts cover my massive chesticles when I wear my camisoles and sports bra making for a less revealing hooping session.
The project took all of 5 minutes to make, including “which tshirt am I going use?” thought time. At HoopCon, Bex, taught a class that I missed for a contact hooping workshop. Thankfully I have a book and Pinterest that helped educating me on the reconstruction.
Anywho, here’s me in my new hooping/ gardening/ crafting/ being a bad ass/ swimsuit cover/ house working shirt.
The bright orange parade marshall shirt, was my dad’s. He was usually one of the parade marshall during Carnival parades.
Struttin.
Pliers and scissors in his back pockets.
A big ass video camera on his shoulder.
Nikon hanging around his neck.
Classic dad
A little craft project from CraftGawker.
These size 8 heels from 1980s belonged to my mother in law, in her hey day. They were retired to her workshop for 20 years. Her feet now comfortably lodged into flip flops or sneakers.
I’ve modpodged them w black glitter. Still needs a little touch up and I plan on painting the soles. These babies need to bring joy and hotness to a girl in need.
Remember that flick w Rob Lowe and Jennifer Grey? If The Shoe Fits.
My Jewelry display in the
boomboomroom:
Ceiling tile on clearance at Lowes
Picture frame I found dumpster diving
Spray painted everything. Used stencils I found dumpster diving on King St
Pinecone found walking w my children around Christmas
Felt garland I made
Jewelry hanging are mostly my work and 2 by PolyesterStella
I’m tickled by my coffee creamer. It’s so delicious. Found a Bacardi bottle w a bar spout. The mason jars were clumsy since I didn’t have a lid for them.
So far I have made:
Butter
Buttermilk
Laundry detergent
Cat food
Spiced Creamer
Yup. DIY rules.
Ok, I make my own laundry soap. Butter. Chicken stock. Why not my own creamer?
1 can condensed milk
2% milk
A pinch of salt. Cinnamon. Nutmeg cloves. Vanilla. Until it tastes satisfactory.
I filled two spaghetti jars and I still find it quite sweet but I have a sweet tooth.
It tastes spectacular and will last 3-4x longer than my $2.14 bottle of Almond joy creamer.
I do recommend using a siv. The nutmeg and cloves floats on top. Looks weird.
Another variation, leave a few sticks of vanilla to marinate and flavor. Nomnomnom.
Made my own laundry soap. Who makes their own laundry soap?! Me! If u saw how much laundry I go through, it’ll make sense. Plus, I’m a control freak w a house of people w sensitive skin.
For $6 for supplies and $2 for a bucket at Lowes (I also priced out 160psi orange irrigation tubing), I got my DIY on.
The Hubs helped out w filling 3 gallons of warm water as I boiled 4 cups water, dissolving 1 shaved bar of Ivory soap.
I love the smell of ivory soap. It reminds me of painting bc we always had a bar of ivory soap in arts and crafts as a child ; and when I took a painting course we used it to properly clean our paintbrushes.
It shall sit for 24 hours congealing.
It was easy enough with many dollars saving in long run. Over $250 savings a year in laundry soap. Woot woot!
1C washing soda
1/2c borax
1 bar soap
3 gal warm water
4C boiling water

Hammering my own brass jumprings was a great idea in theory. I coil them. Hammer them. Solder them shut.
My lady fingers are cut. Burned. Numb.
Hammering is effing loud. Ting ting ting.
Does that mean I will opt to buying them from my fav craft store etsy.com? Hell no. Im a control freak. If I can make them myself, I will.
