For Mothers Day, my eldest daughter gave me this oversized envelope she made in craft club. It’s one side lamented stripy scrapbook paper; glued I LOVE YOU stickers; a hot glued attached magnet closure. I thought to myself “oh look, here we are in 2013 and my kid makes me a coupon clippings envelope for Mother’s Day”. Yes, I was being an @sshole. TheBeard told me that Mother’s Day is a corporate gig so we can buy more $hit we don’t need for the people we love. “its not your birthday”. I was bitter because I was hoping for a Home Depot gift card so I can make more hula hoops. But, I digress. Fast forward to tonight. I watched 12 episodes of Doctor Who and readied a dozen paintings. I couldn’t find any where to put my fresh illustrations for the last two days. I already spilled coffee on one. Lightbulb! 💡The envelope! It fits my long watercolor papers perfectly. Now my pieces can be free of smudges, toddlers and coffee spills. ….it even says I LOVE YOU.
